Herbs for Animals

Herbs for Animals

Welcome to The Herbarium’s intensive on Herbs for Animals! There are two sessions to this series—one video lesson and one written lesson with a short accompanying video.

In the first session, Renee Crozier Prince, RH(AHG) discusses the herbal holistic approach for animals such as cats, dogs, birds, and more! She introduces important dietary considerations for animals, then discusses several herbs that can be used to support animals experiencing common imbalances, as well as the energetic aspects that can help fine-tune our choice of herbs. Since safety and compliance are of paramount importance, she shares her tips on dosing and how to effectively administer the herbs to various animals.

In the second session, Kelly Holland Azzaro, RA, CCAP, CBFP, LMT reviews the use of flower essences for the emotional well-being of animals. Kelly discusses what flower essences are, how they are used for emotional support, the situations for which they are particularly suited, and some of her favorite flower essences to use for animals and their specific indications.

By the end of this intensive, students will gain a better understanding of how to safely use herbs and flower essences to support the well-being of their beloved pets and other animals.

(Although you can support your pet through many common ailments with herbs, please keep in mind: if your pet is behaving abnormally, take them for a visit to your local veterinarian.)
